Don’t Let Budget Ax Fall on Public Libraries

I am concerned that the county's financial problems will fall very heavily on its public library system. Although I agree that in these austere times, the county must move wisely to better match expenditures to revenues, I'm fearful that the library will fall victim to very unwise economies because it is an easy target for the uninformed, and unlikely to be the subject of special pleading that defends other expenditures.
