The 2nd Annual Ride for the Red Poker Run, benefiting the Loudoun Chapter of the American Red Cross, took place at the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Hall on Oct. 4, 2008. Through the event - in which 119 motorcyclists took part - they were able to raise more than $13,500.

The Loudoun County chapter of the American Red Cross has ended a program that gave seniors, veterans and disabled residents free rides to medical appointments, one of several cutbacks prompted by waning donations and the worsening economy. Read story »
