Bio: Sandhya Somashekhar began at the Washington Post as a summer intern in 2005, and returned after finishing her master's in journalism at the University of California, Berkeley, in June 2006. Prior to that, she covered education for three years at a small daily newspaper in Fremont, Calif. The oldest of three children, she grew up in Battle Creek, Mich., and Bel Air, Md. She now lives in the District with her husband of two years.
