hey hey! kids aren't little burdens that can be portrayed by a statement like "now we have to find something [for them] to do"! goodness! they're WONDROUS in their youngness, their having so much of life ahead of them, and in their capacity and capability for love and joy. if that's now how you think of them then maybe it's time to re-think what life consists of and what makes a good, good life. i know ideals aren't always easy or even possible, but let's aim headlong in the direction of dropping the unnecessary and holding tightly to each other <3

I agree with Z. these parents who are complaining about having to find something for their children to do aren't very grateful. They should try being divorced and not getting to see their child every day.

Summer is a wondrous time for children, when they can be free, and free of homework and the constant regimentation of school.
They can have fun, learn what they're most interested in, and develop their creativity.
Freedom is what America is all about, after all.
