HCA lost this vote when they tried to buy it.

That's just ignorant.
Have you counted the INOVA money on this subject? It's three times the money that HCA spent in advertising.

True. Both have thrown money around. Kind of sad really.

Gee, a private corporation has tried for years to build a business (A Hospital) that create hundreds of high paying jobs (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, etc) This business will pay taxes on all of its property to the County. Let's make it as hard as possible to for HCA to move forward. On the other hand, we could allow Hobie Mitchell to build 500 townhomes and condos in Lansdowne on land zoned for commerical uses. Lansdowne residents were shown maps that showed this land was designated COMMERCIAL, not RESIDENTIAL. This will continue to overburden our schools and drain resources from the County. What does the Board of Sueprvisors do? Approved! Build it! Done!

Do you see a pettern here in Loudoun County?

Dear rburns, I agree with your logic concerning the BOS decesions regarding the new hospital and rezoning commercial for residential, but I don't see why you are complaining. Landsdowne parents have nothing to worry about when it comes to overburdening their schools, (ha). You will just keep sending your children into the "Highly Desired" Ashburn Farms schools and keep pushing our children out. In Loudoun County, Cash Rules. I've learned to deal with it. Can you?

salm624: Cash might have ruled the previous board. The question is if this board can be as easily bought.

Oh lets vote for it. Now one knows how much money we are really getting paid for it. Hey maybe they will donate some to the school budget. Like 55 million.

Funnyguy, HCA has offered $11 MIL for road improvements and will pay $3.5MIL yearly.
That seems to be more than INOVA has been willing to pony up since they reported $181 MIL in profits (as a not-for-profit)
