This road was originally only supposed to be a toll road for 20 years. We are only 8 years from sunsetting the toll. Is this still the plan?

This is the result of the first public private partnership in Virginia. All I can say is we got exactly what we asked for. PPA does not mean a free ride for the general public. It means we have to pay for it in other ways (more traffic on Waxpool Rd and higher tolls.

I hope our elected leaders consider more carefully the next time they claim a PPA will solve all our problems!

People, there's a little something called "free market economy" at work here. If the tolls are too high, fewer people will use the road, and the operators will be forced to reduce the toll to a level where people will pay. I guarantee you, the proposed toll has been carefully formulated to produce the maximum amount of revenue.
