Metrorail will not reach Loudoun by 2015, it won't even reach Tysons and Wiehle Ave. by 2015. It may take until 2016 or 2017 to build through Wiehle. I am sure Bechtel will try to drag this out as long as they dragged out the Big Dig in Boston (The longer it takes, the more you get paid!). For comparative purposes, it took 5 years just for Metro to build the Blue Line extension to Largo, and that was only 3 miles. The Metro extension from W. Falls Church to Wiehle is about 11 miles, and from there, it's another 13 to Rt. .772 in Ashburn. It will take considerable time to build through Tysons Corner and on the Airport property. It is a shame our elected leaders in Richmond and in Northern Virginia keep promising the rail line to Loudoun by 2015. I think 2025 or 2030 is more likely.
