Constructed on the shore of the Potomac River, beneath the shadow of Sugarloaf Mountain, Tarara got its name when the Hubert family purchased the property and noted its resemblance to Mount Ararat – a Biblical site – and reversed the letters. Winemaker Jordan Harris cultivates his creations in a hollowed out cave that maintains a steady temperature in the 60s. Tarara specializes in red varietals, with an emphasis on Bordeaux classics.
