Description:
The element that keeps visitors coming back to Providence Presbyterian Church in Fairfax is their extensive music program. With about eight different groups, ranging from youth choirs to drumming circles, the church offers several opportunities for members to participate in singing and music. The Providence Singers, a group consisting of adults and high school students, travel to neighboring nursing homes and sing old show tunes to the tenants. They also play host to special concerts throughout the year, with guests such as the U.S. Army Chorus and renowned pianist, Thomas Pandolfi.

Providence Presbyterian Church also offers members another way to worship through membership in the LOGOS program, which is a national program for children and adults. The program combines the areas of Bible study, recreation and play, family time and worship skills to incorporate faith in every aspect of family life.

Many of the members who belong to the LOGOS program also participate in the many worship groups offered at Providence Presbyterian Church. For teens there are the junior and senior high youth groups which meet on Sundays 5 p.m.6:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. 7:30 p.m., respectively. The youth groups provide teens with a multitude of activities, including missions trips to Downtown Washington, D.C., Appalachia and Mexico and also a monthly event such as; white water rafting, Christmas caroling party, ice skating, bowling and an annual ski trip.

Another group, unique to Providence Presbyterian Church and headed by the associate pastor, are small groups that meet weekly or bi-weekly. The small groups contain eight to 10 people and each group has something different to offer, though they share the same basic features of; reading and discussing the Bible, prayer and reaching out to fellow members. Some of these groups are years in the making, but are open to new members.
