Deli South has some great sandwiches and some horrible customer service. I brought my family to eat lunch there one afternoon. Not one customer was in the restaurant (save me and my family) and there were 5 or 6 employees in the kitchen. We waited for several minutes for someone to take our order at the counter (3 or 4 feet away from the nearest employee). Eventually, I politely told the nearest employee that we were ready to order. The manager/owner took on a very curt tone and rolled his eyes at me. At that point I changed my mind about having lunch at Deli South and told my family that we were leaving. Right before we left I took a moment to calmly let the manager know that it wasn't a good idea to roll your eyes at customers when they ask for service. He began to yell at me - telling me that he was working hard (which I don't doubt- but doesn't merit a meltdown at the sake of one of your longstanding customers) and that if I "couldn't be patient and wait two minutes then, pal, there's the door!" At which point he literally showed me the door.

We all have bad days and I don't pretend to know what was going on in this guy's life that sent him over the edge at me- but I am certain that I won't ever eat there again.

This would be the last place I would take anyone to eat. Rude staff. Bad food.

The owner of Deli South offers his restaurant FREE for food preparation (the ovens, the utensils, the refridgeraor, etc.) and food for FREE to St James Church the last 2 Sundays of every month to prepare 200-400 hot meals, including baked chicken breasts, vegetables and mashed potatoes) to give away to those in need, in a program called Grace to Go. The owner of Deli South faithfully and generously thinks of our community twice a month, at his cost. The food at Deli South is fantastic! a true Deli, with great hot/cold sandwiches and salads! Go there and thank them for what they do for our community! They care!
