Community Baptist Church in Chantilly was founded in 1995 by Senior Pastor Mike Aylestock with its first service held Nov. 5. The church regularly reaches out to its surrounding community and beyond. It supports over 40 missionaries and encourages its members to participate in other good works of service.

Youth Pastor Chris Cisler said the congregation at Community Baptist is made up of helpful, loving members. The youth group, which includes high school students and their families, takes part in regular mission trips. In past years, the group has traveled abroad to such places as Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Honduras, though other activities include summer camps, retreats, scavenger hunts and social get-togethers.

Worship services begin Sundays at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The services feature a choir, congregational singing and a message from the Bible, conducted in a traditional manner. The church places a heavy emphasis on reaching out to people through the Gospel.

Cisler said Community Baptist members are very diverse. Young and old alike of varying backgrounds populate the pews every Sunday morning and evening.

“We have people from all over the world,” he said.
