12/19 - Dionna Scott and the Freedom Eagles smothered Briar Woods 75-38 to start the Dulles District regular season 3-0 and set the tone for their league dominance.

1/23 - Third place in the Dulles District was up for grabs and Broad Run's Caitlin Hunter and Briar Woods' Jillian Olson refused to let their teams fall out of the running. With two narrow victories over the Falcons, including this 43-40 win at Briar Woods, the Spartans claimed the third spot behind front-runners Freedom and Loudoun County.

1/30 - The Loudoun Valley girls sported pink socks and shoelaces during a late season game against Fauquier to support breast cancer awareness and research. The Vikes finished third in the AAA Cedar Run District, reached the district tournament semifinals and ended the season with a 15-8 record.

2/10 - The defensive pressure of Region II Division 3 Player of the Year Meixandra Porter and the Freedom Eagles proved too much for Loudoun County as the Eagles edged their Dulles District rivals 49-42 in their third meeting of the season. They would see each other once more in the district tournament final.

2/10 - With the win over County, the Eagles clinched their first ever Dulles District regular season title. They finished the league regular season with a perfect 14-0 record.

2/17 - The Loudoun County Raiders had plenty to be excited about as the marched to the Dulles District tournament final. Their run began with a 55-34 rout of Leesburg rivals Heritage in the tournament's first round.

2/21 - After a 20-2 regular season that included the a Dulles District title, the Freedom Eagles added a district tournament title to their trophy collection with a 61-57 win over Loudoun County in the final. That victory - their fourth over the Raiders on the year - avenged a heartbreaking last second defeat to County in last season's tournament final. Both teams advanced to the Region II tournament.

2/24 - The Broad Run Spartans celebrated their 54-37 win over James Wood in the first round of the Region II Division 4 tournament in style.

3/7 - Freedom's Kelsey Buchanan was a dominant inside force as the Eagles got past James Monroe 64-57 to advance to the AA Division 3 state finals in Richmond.

3/7 - After their team's victory, the Freedom faithful formed a tunnel for their players to run through as they left the court at Robinson High School. With a 50-43 come-from-behind win over Millbrook in the state semifinals, the Eagles advanced to Saturday's final. They'll face Robert E. Lee-Staunton at 11:00 a.m. at VCU's Siegel Center in Richmond.

3/10 - Sophomore Brittany Batts and the Loudoun County Raiders ran all over Charlottesville in a rematch of the Region II Division 4 final won by the Raiders. County was battling for its first ever appearance in the state title game.

3/10 - County defeated Charlottesville 77-45 to advance to Saturday's state finals where they'll face Turner Ashby at 7 p.m. at VCU's Siegel Center in Richmond. The Knights were the only team other than Freedom to beat the Raiders this season.
