Shannon Rogers, left, of Staunton, Va., waits anxiously with two of her girlfriends for the doors of Pottery Barn to open. Rogers arrived two hours ahead of time in effort to beat the crowds. When the doors were finally unlocked at midnight, Rogers was one of the first ones inside. About 45 minutes later, she left the store $120 poorer, yet thoroughly satisfied.
"I got a bed set for spring, all 10 teacher (Christmas) gifts, an ornament set for myself, little odds and ends, and I donated money to St. Jude's," she said proudly.

The line up to get to the register was between 30 to 45 minutes at 1 a.m. on Black Friday.
