"They think there is a possibility of redirection of staff… at AOL everybody is nervous – most people are nervous."

"They need to do something because they are bleeding. They’re hemorrhaging money. It’s going to hurt our local economy if jobs go away, but, on the other hand, it will hurt our economy if they implode as well, so what can we do?"

— Walter Pinson, Ashburn

"I’ve lived here my entire life, born and raised. All these new developments have totally taken away my original home… so take it all to New York, as far as I’m concerned. Take it to New York and get it out of here… I hope that everybody that’s involved is OK and nothing bad happens to them, but you can take the whole lot of everybody and give me back what was mine when I was born here."

— Joey Walker, Waterford

"They’re not going to get any better talent up in New York, and I’m from Manhattan."

— Tom Marine, Vienna

"I don’t think it’s going to kill us. There’s a lot more growth than there is people leaving."

— Matt McIvor, Ashburn

"People like me switched our service providers. We don’t have AOL anymore. They’re not the king of the hill like they used to be."
