The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch until 8 p.m. tonight in Loudoun.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and early evening, which could bring heavy rainfall to the area. Because the ground has been saturated from rainfall earlier this week, the additional rain could be enough to cause flash flooding in several areas around the county.
Officials ask motorists and others to be on the watch for flash flood conditions and to take proper precautions.
