- Vehicle into Structure/DUI: A driver crashed into the rear of a townhouse on the 20080 block of Northville Hills Terrace in Ashburn around 11 p.m. on Thursday and initially fled the scene before returning. The crash ruptured a gas line, forcing the temporary evacuation of six townhouses. The driver, David A. Fries, 30, of Purcellville was charged with DUI. Nobody was injured and evacuees have since been permitted to return home.

- Missile at Dwelling: Someone threw a full can of beer at the Bluemont General Store on the 33700 block of Snickersville Turnpike in Bluemont around 1 a.m. on Friday, damaging a window.

- Chase/DUI: Authorities responding to a report of a vehicle driving erratically near Russell Branch Parkway and Ashburn Village Boulevard in Ashburn around 2:30 a.m. on Friday observed a vehicle traveling well above the speed limit. A deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over using emergency lights and sirens, but the vehicle continued to drive until it crashed into a line of trees. The driver then fled the vehicle and ran into the pond near the Ashburn Village Association Center and swam to the center island. Authorities used a boat to apprehend the man. Todd M. Finnerty, 26, of Arlington was taken to a local hospital for his injuries, charged with DUI, and released on a summons. Additional charges are pending.
