An Ashburn woman was killed on Route 7 early this morning, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office reports.
Around 1 a.m. today, Sofia Taj, 35, a passenger in a moving vehicle on westbound Route 7 near Claiborne Parkway, fell out of the car and onto the roadway. She may have been struck by several other vehicles, and the reason for her fall is unknown.
The driver of the vehicle in which Taj was traveling is cooperating with officials.
Taj's identity was reported around 2 p.m. today, after her family members were notified of her death.
Route 7 westbound was closed for several hours this morning, and the case is currently under investigation.
