Cleaners Let the Dog Out

ASHBURN, Regal Wood Dr., Tuesday. A pit-bull-type dog was reported to be running loose. An officer found the owner and some neighbors looking for the animal The owner said her cleaning service had accidentally let it out. The dog was found at a nearby park.

Rabbit Invades Kitchen

ALDIE, Clock Tower Sq., Tuesday. A rabbit was reported to be inside the kitchen of a residence. An officer set a trap for the rabbit, and it was confined a short time later. The officer returned the rabbit to the wild.

Injured Cat Euthanized

LEESBURG, Steed Hill Lane, Wednesday. Responding to a report of an injured cat, an officer picked up the animal and took it to a veterinary hospital for evaluation. The cat was euthanized because of its injuries.

Thin Horses Reported

MIDDLEBURG, St. Louis Rd., Wednesday. An officer responded to a report of very thin horses on a property. The officer met with the owner and saw the horses., which were in good condition and had adequate food, water and living conditions. No violations were found.

Stray Cat Decides to Stay a Spell

LEESBURG, Little Oatlands Lane, Thursday. A man reported that a stray cat had gotten into his home and had been hiding under a bed for several days. He had set a humane trap but the cat had avoided it. An officer confined the approximately 2-year-old orange-and-white cat. It appeared healthy and was taken to the animal shelter.
