Crime Blotter: Developments in Missing-Person Case

Authorities are investigating destruction of property with a gun and developments in a missing-person case, according to a release from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

- Burglary: Someone entered an Ashburn business on the 44000 block of Pipeline Plaza between Friday evening and Monday morning and removed three laptops.

- Destruction of Property: A window on the 40 block of Tritapoe Place in Lovettsville was damaged with a BB gun between May 1 and May 9.

- Larceny: Someone entered a vehicle by damaging a window on the 46200 block of Potomac Run Plaza in Sterling between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. yesterday and removed a GPS unit, sunglasses and a portable DVD player.

- Missing Person/Suspicious Vehicle: Deputies responding to a suspicious vehicle report on Fairway Drive in Sterling around 1:30 p.m. yesterday discovered that the vehicle belonged to a 54-year-old Vienna man who was reported missing or endangered in Fairfax County on Sunday evening. The man had previously stated that he wished to harm himself. Members of Loudoun Fire & Rescue and other agencies searched the area, and officials believe the man may have entered the Potomac River in a kayak. Fairfax County police are leading the investigation.
