Weekend Round Up: Barn Dance, Bow Wow Garden Tour

There is plenty of fun for Mom and the family this weekend, including free Loudoun Vineyard wine tastings, garden tours in Middleburg, and a good ol' country barn dance in Purcellville.

Bow Wow Meow Garden Tour

Help homeless animals while touring Middleburg gardens at Wingfield Farm and Ellerslie Farm, where the gardens will be open for viewing – featuring sculptures, fountains, flowers, a secret garden rooms, and Russian chapel – off of Foxcroft Road on Saturday and Sunday.

To further support the homeless animals, several pets - courtesy of the Middleburg Humane Foundation – will be available for adoption, as well as a variety of books and desserts.

Admission is $25 per person, or $20 per senior or per person in groups of 10 or more. For more information, call 540-364-3272.

The Bow Wow Meow Garden tour runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain dates are May 16 and 17.

Swing into Spring!

Don your western boots and buckles for this weekend's Swing into Spring barn dance in Purcellville. This annual spring fundraiser supports the Round Hill Arts Center, a community based arts center dedicated to foster a local appreciation for the fine arts.

The evening will commence with a garden party at Hollyfield Farm in Purcellville, and progress to Hallingdal Farm for music by the Loudoun Jazz Ensemble, as well as a silent auction and art exhibit.

Mother's Day at the Vineyards

On Friday and Saturday, treat your mother to a beautiful day in the country at Great Country Farms in Bluemont. After a lunch at the Roosteranté, make a stop at the Friends of Bluemont Art Show and Sale in the Vineyard stable for shopping and wine tasting.

Admission is $6 per person, and free for children under the age of two. Bluemont Vineyard is located at 18780 Foggy Bottom Road. For more information, call 540-554-2073.

Over in Leesburg, mothers will receive a complimentary wine tasting at Tarara Vineyard and Winery on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tarara Vineyard and Winery is located at 13648 Tarara Lane in Leesburg. For more information, call 703-771-7100.
