Authorities are investigating cases of armed robbery in Sterling and a vehicle accident involving a wanted suspect in Sterling, according to a release from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
- Armed Robbery: Two men robbed the convenience store of a Sunoco gas station in Sterling just before midnight on Wednesday, with one of the men brandishing a firearm and demanding cash. Both of the men, who were reportedly black, had their faces covered. One of the robbers wore a grey shirt and dark pants and was described as being 5'6" tall with a slim build. His companion wore a white t-shirt and dark pants and was also reportedly 5'6" tall with a slim build. In addition to stealing cash, the men also stole tobacco products. The robbery occurred on the 20800 block of Hardwood Forest Drive.
- Wanted Subject: A vehicle accident in Sterling led to the arrest of a man wanted by the Federal Government. A deputy on patrol observed a vehicle lose control and spin out. The deputy identified the driver as Carlos Ramirez, 35, of Maryland, who was found to be wanted on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The accident occurred near the intersection of Nokes Blvd. and Ridgetop Circle around 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The man was arrested and is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
