Sample red wine from the barrel at Loudoun Valley Vineyards and Winery, or enjoy one of several Loudoun County weekend concerts: Franklin Park Performing and Visual Arts Center features the Irish and Celtic music of John Power and Joshua Walker, the Loudoun Valley High School will host the Navy Commodores Jazz ensemble and Loudoun Valley Vineyards and Bluemont Vineyards welcome local artists Ken Wenzel and Josh Burgess.

Saint Patrick's Day Concert at Franklin Park

To celebrate Saint Patrick's Day, local musicians John Mark Power and Joshua Walker will entertain Friday evening, starting at 8 p.m., with traditional songs from Ireland and the British Isles at the Franklin Park Performing and Visual Arts Center.

Reserve tickets by calling the Box Office at 540-338-7973. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

Visitors can also come hour early for the free opening reception of Gallery 222's Going Green art exhibit. The exhibit features the paintings and sculptures by Loudoun artists that celebrate the arrival of spring and demonstrate creative recycling.

United States Navy Commodores Jazz Ensemble

On Sunday afternoon, enjoy big band-style music of the United States Navy Commodores Jazz Ensemble at Loudoun Valley High School at 7 p.m. The "Commodores" are a unit of the United States Navy Band in the District of Columbia, and features the talent of the 18 Navy jazz and big band musicians.

The Purcellville Town Council invites Loudoun County to attend the performance, which is Purcellville's Final Centennial Celebration of the Town's Incorporation.

Admission is free.

Barrel Tasting

Try a sample of Loudoun Valley Vineyards and Winery's barreled wine before it is bottled this Saturday 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase wine futures at a discounted price.

The tasting fee is $20 per person, and includes cheese and crudités pairings. Reservations are required.
