Crime Blotter: Larceny, Destruction of Property

Authorities are investigating two cases of Larceny in Sterling and a case of destruction of property in Leesburg, according to a daily report by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Tampering with a Vehicle: Between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7:10 a.m. Thursday, someone entered a vehicle in the 43270 block of Swamp Fox Court in Ashburn and removed change.

Larceny: Between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday, someone entered an unsecured vehicle in the 43100 block of Lake Ridge Place in Leesburg and removed a GPS unit.

Tampering with a Vehicle/Destruction of Property: Between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday, someone entered a vehicle in the 43000 block of Running Ridge Way in Leesburg and removed a purse. A musical instrument in the car was broken. Items from the purse were found scattered in the area.

Larceny: Between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday, someone removed a firearm from a residence in the 20500 block of Wake Terrace in Sterling.

Larceny: Around 4:12 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an area in the 45130 block of Columbia Place in Sterling for a report of a man shoplifting from the Wegman's grocery store. The man fled on foot but was apprehended by deputies on Route 28. Charles Justin Deibel, 23, of Manassas, Va., was charged with grand larceny. He was held without bond.

Larceny from a Vehicle: Between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday, someone entered a vehicle in the 43200 block of Rush Run Terrace in Ashburn and removed a GPS unit and change.
