A flood watch is still in effect in Northern Virginia, through 6 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain will continue to fall through late afternoon before it tapers off this evening. One to three inches of rain is expected, and the heaviest rainfall will likely occur this morning into early afternoon.
Residents in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action if flooding develops.
