The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Northern Virginia from today at 2 p.m. through Friday afternoon.

More rain is expected this afternoon, with the heaviest precipitation most likely to fall this evening into midday Friday. Residents in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action if flooding develops.
