The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported attempted abduction that occurred Monday afternoon in Sterling.
An 18-year-old girl reported that she was walking near the back of the Sterling Park Mall around 4:30 p.m. when an unknown subject asked her for directions. As she approached the man’s vehicle he attempted to pull her into the SUV. The victim screamed and fought back. The suspect then released the victim and left the scene. The victim also left the scene and contacted authorities. The incident was reported around 6:15 p.m. that day.
The suspect is described as a black man, 35 to 40-years-old, with a thin build. He was described as being unshaven and was wearing a blue polo-style shirt and a black hat with lettering. He was driving a black SUV with faded paint. The vehicle was also said to have oxidation spots where the paint had faded on the passenger side of the vehicle. The suspect may also have recent facial injuries.
