This year's Special Olympics athletes got a warm up on Saturday at the Third Annual Loudoun County Special Olympics Free Throw Competition, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

Held at Harper Park Middle School in Leesburg, the combined competition and fundraiser featured an estimated 65 competitors from Loudoun County and raised $100.

"It gets the athletes used to competition, how to work under pressure and they have a good time," said Chuck Allen, creator of the event.
