Cat Caught in Trap

STERLING, Vintage Park Plaza, Jan. 30. Responding to a report of an injured cat inside a trap, an animal control officer found a white and red cat with a leg injury. The officer took it to a veterinary hospital for treatment. Lost reports were checked; no match was found.

Vulture Unable to Fly

PURCELLVILLE, Telegraph Springs Rd., Jan. 30. An injured hawk was reported to be in the back yard of a home. An officer found a vulture that appeared ill and was unable to fly. It was taken to the animal shelter and euthanized.

Shot Goose Is Reported

WATERFORD, Clover Hill Rd., Jan. 31. A goose was reported to have been shot. An officer located two flocks of geese but did see any injured birds.

Rabbit Hops Into Parking Lot

CHANTILLY, John Mosby Highway, Jan. 31. An officer was flagged down by a resident who reported seeing an injured rabbit in a parking lot. The officer found the rabbit to be uninjured and apparently healthy. The rabbit did not appear to be domestic, so it was not impounded.

Horse Get Back on the Road

ASHBURN, Harry Byrd Highway, Monday. A vehicle transporting a horse broke down and needed to be towed. An officer arrived with a horse trailer and helped get the horse to its destination.
