The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents to be on the lookout for suspicious activity, after a reported burglary in South Riding on Friday.
The incident could be related to a string of residential burglaries that have occurred in the county since December, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office. Since Dec. 7, the Sterling Park area has seen at least 10 daytime residential burglaries. In all of the cases, the homes were thoroughly searched and cash and jewelry seem to be the main target.
Police have said a possible suspect in the case is described as a black male with a medium to heavy build. Also, a candy-apple red extended-cab truck, possibly a Ford, has been reported in the area of some of the crimes.
The following is a list of possible related residential burglaries:
Dec. 7, 2008: 700 block of North Amelia Street in Sterling and 1800 block of North Sterling Boulevard in Sterling
Dec. 22, 2008: 1400 block of Kennedy Road in Sterling and 200 block of Harrison Road in Sterling
