If only he had a nice recreation center, or some other "teen friendly" place to play some sports this could have all been avoided ...

i don't think i have ever seen a better focused or better framed security camera shot. I think the young man should have worn a nicer outfit.

Lack of a teen center or sports program is a lousy excuse for a teenager to hold someone up at gunpoint. My question is, where are his parents?? They must be so proud of what they spawned. If they had to raise a common thug, they could have at least raised one with brains enough to know there are cameras EVERYWHERE. I feel for the store clerk. He must have been utterly terrified!!

I agree ms1234, I don't go for the "blame it on everyone but the criminal" game. There were no teen centers where I grew up and I nor any of my friends were out committing armed robbery. There are plenty of legal and constructive things for kids to do in Loudoun County and plenty of kids are out participating in these activiites and staying out of trouble. There is no excuse for this punk to be out robbing convenience stores.

parents response : "its not my fault. its the media's fault. yeah. now let me get back to my football game becuase it is the most important thing in life above all else"

i know this boy hes on the football team at my school and he was at football practice in the weeks before this, apparently accourding to his friends hes a nice guy. even though i dont agree thanks to this. hes really quiet which now makes sense. but dont start talking about teen centers because this kid came from a good place before this.

Actually, I think OTH was being sarcastic in his comment that started this thread. I am sure he/she will correct me if I am wrong.

yep, sarcasm; I've heard this kind of sentiment related to stories like this. Modern parents, just looking for a convenient scapegoat for their lack of parenting.

You aren't willing to post his name, but you'll put his picture up for the world to see when he's a minor?

What's his citizenship status?

Posted by dingus5 (anonymous) on August 19, 2009 at 2:08 p.m. (Suggest removal)

PLEASE remove his photo. He has been charged. Let the court process deal with it as it deems appropriate. Other than sensationalism, what purpose does publishing his photo serve? Your statement, "The name of the suspect cannot be released as he is a juvenile." makes you appear hypocritical when you then print the photo. Do the right thing. Take the photo down.

hahaha that dumbass didnt even think to put a mask on...drugs possibly???
a minor that does such criminal acts is highly predicted to be abusing hardcore drugs...
