Four Charged in Series of Sterling Daytime Burglaries

Four people have been charged in connection with a series of daytime residential burglaries that occurred in the Sterling Park area over the past four months.

Evelyn R. Leyva, 19, Melissa Ruiz-Rodriguez, 24, and Patrick E. Galindo, 23, all of Sterling, and Christopher R. Glass, 19, of Missouri, have been charged in connection with the burglaries.

Glass is facing 11 burglary charges and 11 grand larceny charges. Levya is charged with five counts of burglary and five counts of grand larceny. Ruiz-Rodriguez is charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of grand larceny and Galindo is charged with burglary, grand larceny and destruction of property.

Galindo is currently being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Ruiz-Rodriguez, Glass and Levya are being held in Fairfax County.

The four suspects have been connected to 13 daytime residential burglaries that occurred in the Sterling Park area between December 2008 and March 2009. The houses were ransacked and jewelry and cash was the primary target.

The series of burglaries remains part of an ongoing investigation and further charges and arrests are likely.
