A Middleburg man has been charged in the burglary of Loudoun Guns today, and police are searching for a second suspect.
The Leesburg Police Department charged Anthony Rumont Roberts of Middleburg with burglary, grand larceny, concealing stolen firearms, grand larceny with intent to sell or distribute stolen property, obstruction of justice and destruction of property. He is currently being held in the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center pending arraignment.
The incident occurred today at 3:30 a.m. when Leesburg Police responded to an alarm at the Loudoun Guns store at 302 Industrial Court SE in Leesburg. Police discovered smashed glass at the entrance to the store. They apprehended Roberts and recovered evidence at the scene.
Police are still searching for a second suspect, described as a male between 5-feet-2-inches and 5-feet-6-inches tall, 150 pounds, last seen wearing an orange ski mask and dark clothing.
Authorities are working with the owners of the store to identify all property stolen during the incident.
