It was an early Easter for some Loudoun County children at the Claude Moore Community Center Saturday. Around 35 children between the ages of 2 and 10 came out to meet the Easter bunny and go on an Easter egg hunt.
More than 1,000 eggs were spread across the playground at the Community Center. Around 130 of the eggs were marked with an “X.” If a child picked up an egg with an “X” on it, they later were able to get a special prize from the Easter bunny.
After the Easter egg hunt, the children and their families settled down for some pizza to end the day. Claude Moore Park hosts the event every year on the first Saturday in April.
Lenda Buchanon of the Claude Moore Community Center said the event always brings smiles to the children’s faces, and she looks forward to doing it every time.
Easter Comes Early With an Egg Hunt
“It seems to be a really enjoyable event for everybody,” Buchanon said. “We always get such great comments … that makes everything worth while. The kids' excitement: it just makes it all worth while.”
