Letter to the Editor: Supervisors Ignore Needs of South Riding Students

I am a Dulles South resident, and my kids attend Little River Elementary School.

Last year, my daughter's fourth-grade classroom was in the teacher's lounge because the school was so over-capacity. It wasn't a smooth, pretty year. But she had a wonderful teacher who, despite the small room, found ways to make the kids feel comfortable and enjoy school. She had to work hard at it.

The other day, my daughter was scared when she saw classrooms meeting in the auditorium at Mercer Middle School. I think she has sacrificed enough already. Neither students nor teachers deserve to be treated like that.

When the Board of Supervisors last week rejected the Lenah site for construction of a middle school and high school, they did not do right by our kids and our teachers.
