This week, begin the holiday season by eating a community Thanksgiving dinner in Purcellville, or volunteering for the event. If you can stay awake, head over to the Leesburg Premium Corner Outlets that night for the Midnight Madness sale kicking off 12 a.m. Friday.
Friday afternoon, watch the annual tree lighting at the Reston Town Center.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner
A free family-style dinner with all the trimmings will be served at Bethany United Methodist Church in Purcellville on Thanksgiving Day from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Turkey, ham, green beans, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, apple sauce, cranberry sauce, home baked rolls, apple and pumpkin pies and assorted beverages will be prepared and served by community volunteers.
Those who are unable to come to the church may request a meal to be delivered by calling 540-338-7648 or e-mailing bethanyum@verizon.net.
Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
A performance by the Reston Chorale, accompanied by a brass quintet, will commence the annual tree lighting ceremony and arrival of Santa Claus at the Reston Town Center. The event is free and will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday. For further information, contact the Reston Chorale directly at 703-834-0079 or at info@restonchorale.org.
Midnight Madness
Starting at midnight on Friday, the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets will begin its biggest sale event of the year. Check out the Sales And Events page to view the weekend's sale information. Sale hours are Friday, 12 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Early shoppers enjoy added savings at Ashworth-Callaway Golf, Izod, Nike Factory Store, Old Navy, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, and Yankee Candle.
