Info: The Community Holiday Coalition and Loudoun County Animal Care and Control will be offering a Christmas store of donated food, clothes and toys, and a pet pantry of pet food and pet toys. Cat food is most needed. Volunteers are needed to receive, sort and distribute donations.

Christmas store donations will be accepted at a number of area businesses and Loudoun community centers through Dec. 18. See the Web site for a list of locations. Suggested donations include new clothing, toys, nonperishable food, toiletries, cash and gift cards. Deliveries will be Dec. 11.

Pet donations should be dropped off at the Loudoun County Animal Shelter, 39820 Charles Town Pike, Waterford.

TOYS FOR TOTS

Info: The Loudoun County Fire-Rescue system and the Loudoun Career Firefighters' Association will collect toys at county fire stations through Dec. 19 as part of the national Toys for Tots program, sponsored by the U.S. Marines. Donations must be new and unwrapped; no weapons or toys resembling weapons.

Info: Volunteers collect, pack and ship holiday cards, food, snacks and gifts to service members overseas and at military hospitals. Donated items must be in small sizes and individually wrapped. Notes of support and gift donations are also welcome.

Many Moe's Southwest Grill restaurants in Northern Virginia will be collection sites beginning Monday. Visit the Web site for a list of other locations and recommended items.

Info: An organization of 14 churches in Sterling, Herndon and Ashburn will be collecting used winter coats from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today, tomorrow and Saturday at a collection box at Sterling United Methodist Church, 304 E. Church Rd. They should be clean and in good condition. Hats, mittens, scarves and sweatshirts also are welcome.
