Crime Blotter: Indecent Exposure, Assaults

Authorities are investigating assaults Ashburn and the Sterling Dulles Town along with a case of exposure at the Sterling Wal-Mart and destruction of property in South Riding, according to daily reports from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

- Burglary/Destruction of Property: An unknown subject attempted to enter a garage on Whaley Court in Sterling by damaging the locks between 3:50 p.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday. The estimated loss is $150.

- Destruction of Property: Graffiti was spray painted on the Freedom High School football field on the 24500 block of Riding Center Drive in South Riding between 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday.

- Destruction of Property: Possible gang-related graffiti was spray painted on a utility box on the 1000 block of Argonne Avenue in Sterling between 12 a.m. and 10 a.m. Friday.

- Indecent Liberties/Exposure: Jose Gabriel Avila-Galvez, 35, of Sterling, was charged with taking indecent liberties after exposing himself to a 12-year-old Ashburn female in the Wal-Mart store on the 45400 block of Dulles Crossing Plaza in Sterling between 2:12 p.m. and 2:17 p.m. Friday. Avila-Galvez was apprehended and it was learned he had an active detainer from ICE. He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

- Assault: A 15 year-old male from Ashburn reported that he was walking in the area of Fountain Grove Square and Hollyhock Terrace in Ashburn when he was assaulted by several males between 10:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday.

- Auto Theft: A green 1996 Honda Accord was removed from the 40 block of Howard Place in Sterling between 8 p.m. Friday and 11:45 Saturday. The estimated loss is $7,000.

- Larceny/Shoplifting/Assault: Unknown subjects allegedly attempted to shoplift items from the Abercrombie & Fitch Kid Store in the Dulles Town Center on the 21100 block of Dulles Town Circle in Sterling at 5:19 p.m. Saturday. When one of the store employees confronted one of the suspects, the employee was sprayed with pepper spray. The suspect, who fled the scene, is described as a Hispanic male, 5’7” and 180 pounds with short black hair. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic female in her mid-thirties, 5’5” tall, and 135 pounds with long straight hair. The employee and a patron of the mall were treated for the exposure to the pepper spray by rescue personnel.

- Burglary: An unknown subject gained entry into an apartment on the 1600 block of Brethour Court in Sterling between 12:10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday. Nothing was removed from the apartment.

- Burglary: Unknown subjects attempted to gain entry into a residence by damaging a front door on the 12890 block of Park Brooke Court in Ashburn between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

- Theft from Vehicles: Two head units to car stereos were removed from two cars on the 22500 block of Sterling Boulevard in Sterling between 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. The estimated loss is $400.

- Auto Theft: A white 1995 Mercury Tracer parked along the curb of the roadway of the 500 block of Fillmore Avenue in Sterling was removed between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The estimated loss is $3,000.

- Theft/Destruction of Property: An MP3 player was removed from a vehicle on the 44000 block of Woodridge Parkway in Leesburg at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. A side window was damaged to gain entry. The estimated loss is $600.
