Loudoun Valley Girls' Tennis Reaches State Semifinals

The Loudoun Valley girls' tennis team continued its undefeated season, rolling to a 5-0 home victory over Douglas Freeman on Wednesday in a Virginia AAA state quarterfinal match.

The Vikings move on to face Thomas Jefferson in a state semifinal match on Friday at noon at Huntington Park Tennis Center in Newport News.

Region II Singles and Doubles Boys' Tennis

Ida Lee Tennis Center in Leesburg was the host for this year's Region II singles and doubles boys' tennis tournament, which wrapped up on Wednesday. Western Albemarle took home both titles, defeating Briar Woods in the doubles final.

Western Albemarle also secured the Region II team title last Saturday with a victory over Briar Woods.

Senior Ben Fritts and sophomore Joey Manilla of Western Albemarle defeated Stephen Law and Patrick Melbourne of Briar Woods, 6-3, 7-6.
