Purcellville's Heritage Day Celebration
The town of Purcellville celebrated its annual Heritage Day on Saturday. This year, however, the celebration had a special focus on the town's centennial. Purcellville was incorporated as a town on March 14, 1908.
The celebration, put on by the Purcellville Preservation Association, featured a walking tour of the town, a short film and oral history of the town called "The Stories Behind the Story of Purcellville," which ran throughout the day at the Purcellville train station.
The featured entertainment included the music of local blue grass group, the Raymond Riley Loudoun Travelers, a performance by the Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers and a pie baking contest.
