Authorities are investigating the theft of copper in the Chantilly area, and two tires were damaged on a vehicle in Sterling, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said this morning in a daily report.
-- Larceny: Copper wire and copper fittings were removed between 5 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday from the 44200 block of Lavin Lane in the Chantilly area. The loss was estimated at $6,425.
-- Destruction of property: The tires of two vehicles were damaged between 5 a.m. Monday and 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Tottenham Court in Sterling. The loss was estimated at $330.
