Rep. Frank R. Wolf (R-Va.) urged the Virginia General Assembly this week to freeze toll increases for the Dulles Greenway.
The privately owned Greenway, which connects Leesburg to Dulles International Airport, was granted permission by the State Corporation Commission this year to raise the one-way rush-hour toll to $4.80 by 2012.
“I continue to believe that the original state law which created the public-private partnership for the Greenway is flawed because it fails to protect the consumer,” Wolf wrote in a letter to lawmakers. “The current law protects the private interests over those of the consumers of the road, most of whom are Virginia residents.”
