The Virginia Department of Transportation is announcing overnight road closures on Route 7 south of Leesburg through the weekend in the area of Rivercreek Parkway. VDOT will be installing a storm water pipe to carry storm water from the north side of Route 7 to Goose Creek.
From 8 p.m. on Friday through 8 a.m. on Saturday the eastbound lanes will be closed and drivers will be diverted into one lane in each direction on the westbound side of the road. On Saturday form 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. Sunday, traffic will be diverted to the eastbound side.
Traffic may also be rerouted again Sunday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday morning, depending on the workflow.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will aide VDOT in monitoring the flow of traffic.

Seems they miscalculated, since Rte 7 is currently a disaster area at 1:30PM on Saturday at this location. Thanks again VDOT! And people ask why Leesburg is a ghost town on weekends? You cannot get anywhere in this county at ANY time without sitting in traffic. Maybe LCSO should put up a license checkpoint too, to add to the fun and delays.
