Since my friends and neighbors first gave me the privilege of representing them on the Loudoun Board of Supervisors, I have been hard at work keeping Sterling Park a wonderful place to live for all of us.
I created an ordinance limiting the number of people in a home and sought to toughen it. I have fought to better enforce zoning rules against overgrown grass and solid waste. I have fought for a sheriff’s substation to help Sterling combat gang crime, graffiti and other ills that are spilling over from Fairfax County. My public agenda items on the 287(g) program led the sheriff’s department to adopt measures that will soon deport illegal alien criminals who threaten Sterling.
These are just a few of the many ideas, proposals and legislation I have offered in defense of Sterling.
I’ve been virtually the only member of the board to offer solutions to a problem that is sweeping across all of Northern Virginia: illegal immigration. The blight problems that have spilled over from Fairfax and are spreading across Loudoun will not be solved until we toughen our zoning rules and enforce our immigration laws.
But as we have seen recently, there are those in Loudoun who react viciously when an elected official speaks frankly about illegal immigration’s effects on our community. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has noticed that not only do my critics tend to be liberal activists or candidates rejected by Sterling voters, but not one of them has offered any solution of their own — other than to force Sterling residents to offer their neighborhoods as illegal-alien sanctuaries.
If anyone should make an apology, it is those who criticize my ongoing fight to keep Sterling Park a wonderful place to live who should apologize to the people of Sterling for eight years of criticism and opposition.
Meanwhile, I will continue to fight to toughen and enforce our zoning and immigration laws. Sterling Park is too wonderful a place to live to leave in the hands of those who refuse to speak out against illegal immigration’s effects on our community.

Stick to your guns, Eugene. Speaking "truth to kooks" (such as the groups who fight against enforcing our immigration laws) may be difficult, but it's what we expect our elected officials to do.
Secure our Borders. Speak our Language, which is English. Respect our unique American Culture. Those are the ideas I expect our elected officials to support.

Right on. It's nice that at least one politician has the right stance on the issue.

Sorry Eugene, I ain't buying it.
.
You had every chance to defend Sterling during the last 8 years- instead you went on a gay bashing Leave No Developer behind campaign.
.
You had every chance to be a civil productive representative- instead you wore funny hats to BOS meetings and mocked long time citizens when they expressed concern over rising taxes, crowded schools, and increased traffic.
.
Where was the concern over illegal immigration- hidden behind the list of books and movies you wanted banned from County Libraries?
.
You openly ridiculed neighboring communities and now that you have found the popular illegal immigrant issue you want our help and respect?
.
You're a day late and a dollar short Bub- I ain't buying the snake oil you're now selling.
.
Please- residents of Sterling. Find the 200 votes this Boob won by and throw him out next election. Find a representative without so much baggage if you really want help in your community.

Where was Eugene when illegal immigrants were arriving in force during the housing boom? Who did he think all those thousands of people were who 'suddenly' appeared in Loudoun because jobs were plentiful and no one cared if you were legal or not. Developers were making too much $$ to care. After all they had a friendly BOS who did their bidding.
Illegal labor was welcomed & encouraged because the previous BOS kept approving 1000s upon 1000s of new houses, which Eugene kept voting yes to. Excuse me, but it's just a little too late to all of a sudden start spouting about the illegal immigration problem, when you've done nothing except look the other way and vote for developments which couldn't have been built without cheap illegal labor!!
Although the housing market has slowed, houses are still being built everyday, and illegals are still working by the thousands for landscapers, restaurants, cleaning firms, etc., and thousands of other jobs that pay well below scale and don't require English. It seems Eugene "suddenly" discovered that many of those illegals were living in his district precisely because it was an election year. Now it's just an excuse that he's taking full advantage of. What a hypocrite!
This didn't just happen overnight. He has taken a national issue and pretends that local authorities can do anything to close the gap, that they can somehow stop the thousands of illegals that cross our 2,000 mile border everyday. All the members of the BOS know there are problems, but clearly are limited by what they can do. Eugene knows full well that it will be the next Pres. and his admin. that will have to deal with a problem that will take years to address if ever. Using this as an issue to garner support for himself is only a distraction to his own dismal performance on the BOS. He has done precious little for his own community, incl. voting against the recreation center in Claude Moore, yet takes credit for it when it opened. What a hyprocite. Wake up Sterling, and elect an honorable replacement next time who actually cares about the community.

AFF, Thank you for addressing the fact that Eugene is a biggot! I have been saying that for YEARS! As I sat in my front yard watching his minions put yard signs up for his re-election, guess what type of houses they went to? You got it, non-english speaking members of our community. I think Eugene needs to go back to his safe house in Fairfax and stay there. We all know he doesn't live in that townhouse with all them kids he has. Why don't we send the "overcrowding" police to his house and see the fire hazzard of all those people in that tiny townhouse?
