A Sterling man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision early this morning, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Around 1 a.m., Mark A. Goode, 46, was sitting in a 2004 Chrysler Sebring at the traffic light on Route 7 westbound on River Creek Parkway when he was struck from behind by another vehicle, described as an older model Ford Ranger pick-up, dark in color.
The driver exited his vehicle, and he apparently checked on Goode before fleeing the scene. Goode was airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital where he is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The pick-up truck was last seen heading westbound toward Leesburg. It is believed to have extensive front-end damage, with the license plate possibly hanging off, due to the collision.
