Crime Blotter: Destruction of Property, Auto Theft

Destruction of Property/Larceny: Four vehicles were entered by unknown subject(s) damaging the windows on the 1800 block of North Amelia Street and the 200 block of East Amhurst Street in Sterling between 2 a.m. and 5:50 a.m. Wednesday. Wallets, an MP3 player, a portable DVD player and cash were removed.

Destruction of Property: The tires of 18 vehicles in the area of Sterdley Falls Terrace and Sunrise Terrace in Sterling were slashed between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 7:29 a.m. Thursday, causing $3,600. The Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case.

Auto Theft: A vehicle left in a parking lot on the 46300 block of McClellan Street in Sterling was reported missing 11 p.m. Thursday. The Sheriff's Office was contacted around 2 a.m. Friday by Fairfax police officers who were working an accident involving the stolen vehicle. The driver was apprehended and is facing charges in Fairfax and Loudoun counties for possession of stolen property, DWI and grand larceny.
