Authorities are investigating two malicious woundings in Sterling, a shooting in Ashburn, a hit-and-run accident in Sterling and several incidents of burglary and destruction of property throughout the county, according to a daily report from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Hit-and-Run Accident/Stolen Vehicle: Deputies responded to the 100 block of Fillmore Avenue in Sterling at 4:29 a.m. on Sunday for a report of a car accident where two subjects were seen running from one of the vehicles involved. The suspect vehicle, a green 1998 Dodge pick-up truck, collided with the rear of a parked black Honda SUV. The collision caused the Honda to strike another parked vehicle, and the Dodge was later reported as a stolen vehicle. A 16-year-old suspect from Herndon was located, and petitions are pending. A second suspect has not yet been located.
Burglary: An unknown subject or subjects entered a residence in the 200 block of Charing Court between 11 p.m. Saturday and 9:54 a.m. Sunday and possibly removed a firearm.
Shooting: A resident in the 20430 block of Needleleaf Way in Ashburn heard a loud pop between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday. A deputy arrived at the home and discovered a bullet lodged in the wall of a bedroom. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.
Malicious Wounding: A 25-year-old man received a laceration to the head in the 47000 block of Community Plaza in Sterling at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday. The victim was driving with friends in the area, when something hit their car. They pulled their vehicle into the Community Plaza, where several subjects chased the 25-year-old victim. The incident remains under investigation.

Auto Theft/Recovered Stolen: Deputies responded to an accident in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue in Sterling between 10:30 p.m. on July 4 and 10:30 a.m. on July 5. A vehicle, a silver Honda Civic, had struck a parked Mitsubishi Eclipse, and the occupants of the Honda had fled the scene. Deputies determined that the Honda was stolen.
Larceny: An unknown subject or subjects damaged a window of a vehicle in the 43100 block of Wintergrove Drive in Ashburn at 9:08 a.m. on July 4 and removed a GPS unit valued at $400.
Fight: Deputies responded to the 46900 block of Cedar Lake Plaza in Sterling at 2:45 a.m. on July 4 for a report of a possible fight in the parking lot of an IHOP restaurant. Upon arrival, a large group of people was standing in the parking lot, but officials did not observe any assault. A search of one of the vehicles in the parking lot uncovered a firearm. Deputies removed the weapon.
Destruction of Property/Larceny: An unknown subject or subjects damaged a window of a vehicle near the corner of Waxpool Road and Oakville Terrance in Ashburn between 8 p.m. July 3 and 8 a.m. July 4 and removed a GPS unit, valued at $400.
Destruction of Property/Larceny: An unknown subject or subjects damaged a window of a vehicle in the 22400 block of Maison Carree Square in Ashburn between 8 p.m. July 3 and 8 a.m. July 4 and removed a GPS unit, valued at $600.
Destruction of Property: An unknown subject or subjects damaged six mailboxes in the town of Lovettsville between 11 p.m. July 3 and 7 a.m. July 4.
Destruction of Property/Larceny: An unknown subject or subjects damaged a window of a vehicle in the 22600 block of High Haven Terrace in Ashburn between 9:30 p.m. July 3 and 2:40 p.m. July 4 and removed a GPS unit, valued at $450.
Larceny: An unknown subject or subjects damaged a side window of a vehicle on Rolling Woods Place in Sterling between midnight and 5 a.m. July 3 to gain entry and removed a GPS unit and an MP3 player.
Auto theft: An unknown subject or subjects stole a 2000 Honda Civic from the 44000 block of Florence Terrace in Ashburn between 4 p.m. July 2 and 6:30 a.m. July 3.
Burglary: A resident in the 20900 block of Menges Mill Court in Ashburn reported at 11:05 p.m. on July 3 that an unknown male wearing no shirt and a ski mask attempted to enter his or her home through a rear door. The suspect saw the resident and fled on food. Deputies established a perimeter around the home, and a K9 unite began to track. But no suspect was located.
Destruction of Property: An unknown subject or subjects damaged a cattle gate in the 21300 block of Fairhunt Drive in Ashburn between 3 p.m. July 2 and 6 p.m. July 3.
Destruction of Property: An unknown subject or subjects spray-painted graffiti on the roadway near the intersection of Marshfield Drive and Ashburn Farm Parkway in Ashburn between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on July 2.
Burglary: An unknown subject or subjects entered a house in the 41300 block of Red Hill Road in Leesburg between 7 p.m. on June 26 and 1 p.m. on July 3 and removed a laptop.
