Heritage Cruises Past Briar Woods
Heritage had a fairly easy time on Tuesday night keeping pace with the other top teams in the Dulles District.
The Pride had 12 of its players score, led by Preston Findley with 19, to cruise to a 71-45 victory over host Briar Woods.
With the win, Heritage (5-5, 3-1) remained in a three-way tie with Park View and Broad Run atop the district standings. The Pride lost to Park View by one point last month but defeated the Spartans by two points last Friday.
Nico Darden scored 13 and Brian Mahoney added 12 for Briar Woods (1-9, 0-4).
On Friday, Heritage will host Freedom-South Riding and Briar Woods will play Loudoun County at home in a pair of Dulles District matchups.
Potomac Falls Picks Up Road Win
Potomac Falls used balanced scoring to defeat Freedom-South Riding’s two-man show.
Alex Hogue had 17 points and got plenty of help as the visiting Panthers picked up a key 65-51 victory over the Eagles on Tuesday night in a Dulles District game.
Potomac Falls (6-5, 2-2) outscored Freedom, 13-2, in the second quarter to take a 27-19 halftime lead. And Hogue, who scored 22 points in a victory over George Mason, continued his strong play. He had three three-pointers and now has 12 in his last three games.
The Eagles’ Henry Brisbe led all scorers with 19 points and Troy Dockett added 16, but the rest of the team managed only 16 points.
On Friday, Potomac Falls will host Dominion while Freedom (3-7, 2-2) will play at Heritage in a pair of Dulles District showdowns.
Madison Squeaks By Stone Bridge
Ray Parker scored 14 points and Michael Prince added 10, but it wasn’t enough for Stone Bridge as Madison pulled out a 49-48 victory in a Liberty District matchup on Tuesday.
Nine players scored for Madison (10-1, 3-0), led by Drew Smerdzinski, who had 12 points.

Stone Bridge (3-7, 0-4) led, 28-24, at halftime.
The Bulldogs will host Marshall on Friday in a Liberty District game.
Loudoun Valley Puts Hammer Down on Osbourn
Junior guard Jessica Mullen had a game-high 23 points to help Loudoun Valley pull away for a 62-35 victory over visiting Osbourn Tuesday night in a Cedar Run District matcup.
The Vikings (3-8, 1-4) broke a six-game losing streak and picked up their first district win. Sophomore guard Kayla Sweet added 10 points.
Osbourn (2-7, 1-3) led, 16-15, after the first quarter, but managed only 19 points the rest of the game. Deneka Williams had 14 to lead Osbourn.
Loudoun Valley will next play at Culpepper on Friday night in a Cedar Run matchup.
Stone Bridge Falls to Madison
Senior guard Marygrace Jay had a game-high 26 points to lead visiting Madison to a 68-33 win over Stone Bridge Tuesday night in a Liberty District game.
Madison (11-1, 4-0) jumped to a 33-15 halftime lead and held the Bulldogs to single digits scoring in three of four quarters.
Junior guard Courtney Bryant led Stone Bridge (3-8, 0-4) with 13 points.
The Bulldogs next play at Marshall on Friday night in a Liberty District game.
Freedom Gets Win Over Potomac Falls
Sophomore center Kelsey Buchanan had 16 points and 17 rebounds to help visiting Freedom-South Riding pull away in the fourth quarter for a 53-45 victory over Potomac Falls on Tuesday night in a Dulles District game.
The Eagles also got big games from junior guard Meixandra Porter, who scored 17 points, and freshman guard/forward Dionna Scott, who had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Freedom (8-4, 3-1) and Potomac Falls were tied at 33 through three quarters before the Eagles exploded for 20 points in the final frame.
Sophomore forward Raven Short had 21 points, including three three-pointers, to lead Potomac Falls (3-7, 0-4).
On Friday, Freedom hosts Heritage and Potomac Falls faces Dominion at home in Dulles District action.
