The E-ZPass customer service center in Reston will close Friday and a new temporary location will open in Ashburn next week.
The Reston location at 2100 Reston Parkway will be closed permanently. Customers who use E-ZPass – which can be used at toll facilities on the Dulles Toll Road, Dulles Greenway and other highways in Virginia and along the East Coast – will be able to get limited services at the new Ashburn location at 21641 Beaumeade Circle, Suite 322.
The Ashburn location will open Monday and will be open each weekday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Customers will be able to open accounts, make payments and receive/exchange transponders.
The Virginia Department of Transportation said the Ashburn location is only temporary, and a permanent location will be announced this spring. VDOT said the decision to move the service center was made to reduce operating costs.
In addition to Ashburn, E-ZPass Virginia also has customer service centers in Richmond and Gloucester Point.
