Two United Airways planes being taxied to runways at Dulles International Airport clipped wings yesterday evening and were evacuated without injury, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said.
The planes, an Airbus A319 and a smaller regional jet, collided about 6:10 p.m. as they were being escorted by separate vehicles toward runways for takeoff, said Rob Yingling, an airports authority spokesman.

The Airbus was heading to Albuquerque, and the regional jet was going to Dallas.
Emergency response vehicles from the Arlington County Fire Department and the airport operations department were called to the scene, and shuttle buses ferried passengers back to the terminal, Yingling said.
A similar incident occurred Feb. 17 at Reagan National Airport, when two U.S. Airways planes clipped wings while waiting to take off.
