A Monday morning fire in Waterford that caused $450,000 in damage was determined accidental by the Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office today.
Fire units from around the county and surrounding counties were called to the Waterford home at 1:20 a.m. on Monday at 14897 Clover Hill Road. According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire started on the front porch of the home around a wall-mounted electric holiday decoration.
Within minutes after arriving firefighters were able to control a bulk of the fire. Due to the excessive smoke and fire damage to the home, the occupants will be staying with family.
One of the residents was home at the time of the fire and was transported to the Cornwall campus of Loudoun Hospital Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries/illnesses. A neighbor, who was injured while helping the resident, was treated at the scene.
